Discovered Gillette Pro Glide razors about four years ago and never looked back nor used any other razors since. I used to buy disposable razors that needed 5 to shave once. With Proglide I was amazed not only how close it shaved but one razor lasts a month or more. I was in awe, and although the price may seem higher they last over a month or two and you only need one with the fusion shaving cream it’s an unbeatable combination ( yes I tried other shaving creams when the local pharmacy was out of Fusion and they felt sticky not as slippery and soft. You definitely notice the difference. Highly recommended because I don’t use anything else, with the flexible head on the razors it’s impossible to miss a spot.

So, recently I was running low on Gillette refill blades and I still had some for a Schick Qattro. I decided to try shaving with the Schick blade I had. However, it was leaving rough patches all over my face with a fresh blade and generally just not cutting my facial hair very well. And keep in mind, I am a blonde-haired guy with thinner facial hair typically. So, not liking my shaving experience with the Schick, I popped an old refill blade into a Gillette5 and it totally out-performed the Schick hands down. I could definitely feel the difference. So, a used Gillette blade totally out-performed a fresh Schick blade. I wish Gillette cost less, though. I went to order Gillette and because of price alone, I decided to try the 12 for $20 Personna refill blades that will fit Gillette handles. I would guess Gillette is still superior and worth the investment in your face.
